Aldeburgh Town Council

Fairfield Centre

The Fairfield Centre was established in October 1999 to provide a centre to meet the social needs in the most densely populated part of the town of Aldeburgh.  The purchase of the Centre, which was a redundant Methodist church/hall, was funded by public donations as a Millenium Project organised by the Parochial Church Council of the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Aldeburgh.

The objective, which has not changed, is to provide a place that helps to support the social needs of the local community in the immediate area.  We do this by making the Centre available for a variety of functions.  This includes being: a drop-in centre for the elderly and others; a centre for youth activities; a facility for craft and social clubs; available for local social activities and functions; a meeting place for ecumenical services.

The Centre Manager, supported by a group of volunteers from the local community, together look after the running of the Centre.  With their invaluable time and effort, it remains available to all who wish to use it.  This ensures that it continues to offer the community support that it was established to provide.
