Christmas Light Switch-On SCALED DOWN DUE TO BAD WEATHER

It is with much regret that Aldeburgh Town Council have taken the decision to scale down the Christmas Light Switch-on event planned for Saturday 23rd November.  The reason for the change is the predicted weather forecast of heavy rain and 50mph winds. These conditions would greatly increase the health and safety risks for the event. The funfair will no longer be on Moot Green from noon till 6pm and the Harpist will not be playing from 4pm till 5pm and it would be very risky trying to erect the marquee and sound system in such conditions.

The lights on the Moot Hall tree will be switched on from 5pm on Saturday as planned and Aldeburgh will ready for lead up to Xmas.

The Christmas Craft Fair will definitely go ahead as planned from 10am till 2pm inside the Jubilee Hall. So please go along for a browse and shop. All the trees are up in the High Street above the great variety of shops which will be open for business and ready to serve you.
